Every year between 1930-40, Danmarks Radio held a music competition for the so-called "Lyttervalsen" - "The Listeners' Waltz". The winning waltz was selected by Danish radio listeners and then issued on a record.
The vocalist on this record is Valdemar Davids (1900-1964), a very popular Danish singer who started his career in 1923 and sold more than 1,000,000 records over his lifetime.
