The label name "Gramola" was used only in Austria, not in Czechoslovakia.

As a result of World War I, the British firm The Gramophone Co. had lost its German holdings; they were sold as enemy property to the German Polyphonwerke AG in Leipzig and became their own German company, Deutsche Grammophon Aktiengesellschaft (DGAG).

After the war, the British and German company fought over who had the right to the trademarked Nipper drawing and the phrase "His Master's Voice."

In December 1920, the DGAG won a trial in Vienna in which it was determined that both trademarks had been registered before WW1 for the German branch, not the British parent company. As a result, the British company was forced to sell its products in Austria under the label name "Gramola" Record. From 1922, these Austrian records were produced at Ústí nad Labem (in German: Aussig an der Elbe) by the Czech branch of The Gramophone Co. Ltd, called The Gramophone Company (Czechoslovakia) Ltd., spol. s r.o.

A second ruling by a London court in January 1930 reverted the situation back to where the British company was allowed to continue to use the label name "His Master's Voice" in Austria as well.(source)
