xiphophilos 13th May 2020		E.I.A.R. is the abbreviation for Ente Italiano per le Audizioni Radiofoniche, the sole state-run broadcaster in Facist Italy, founded in 1927. Its orchestra, based in Turin (Torino), was founded in 1931. In 1944, when the state broadcaster changed its name to RAI (Radio Audizioni Italiane), the orchestra changed its own name to Orchestra Sinfonica Di Torino Della RAI (Symphony Orchestra Turin of the RAI). So this must be a pre-1944 recording even though it was reissued on HMI in 1950.
