Reached Number 6 in the NME charts, 31 Jan 1958. It was also awarded a Gold Disc.

Can’t take the credit for the edits, Leonard did that bit, I just did the scans, as long as you have the label square in the scanner it should not be to much to edit the scans, again credit to Leonard.

Getalife, you did a good job. You can't see where both images come together. To make one image out of two scans, is easier said than done because of the different lighting of the two scans (as is the case with my scanner). But with a bit of skill..

Ref: the sleeve, scan half the sleeve then scan the other half, Add as two half images, then they can be edited as one, have a look at “P.B.686” of my collection that have been edited this way.

My glass board is approximately 22x32cm., so big enough to scan the centre (with it's label) of the 78 RPM. single. Of course the whole disc doesn't have to be on the glass necessarely.
In the case of scanning a 78 record-sleeve, I first scan the upper half and after that the lower half. Then I fit them together with Photoshop.

My board (glass) isn't bigger than this. I maybe could have turned the picture 90 degrees to the left or right.

I have a scanner that automatically sharpens, so the issue of 78's not being flat on the glass is non-existent in my case. However, I have to do a few things to get scans presentable for all of youse in the 78 RPM World community.

My scanner is also too small for these large 78's. I solved the problem by 'removing' (with an iron saw) part of the frame (plastic edge) at the front of the scanner to make more room for the 78. To get a sharp image, the disc has to lay horizontal flat on the glass.

Its not your scanner Ulf, you just left too much white background around the image

I have to buy a new scanner. Mine is too small.
Pity.

Small differences like dots, paranthese & others.
How many can you find?
