Thanks, that solves the mystery! I've added the translation above in the Notes.

A-side title in English would be something like: "Love fairytale of ours was sweet". And yes, at least in the present day Finnish, Lemmensatu would be written as one word. But keeping them separated (that may have been on purpose!) makes another translation possible, as Satu (Fairytale) is a Finnish girl's name: "Our lovable Satu was so sweet".

I've added about R. Esko's role what I could figure out with the help of Google Translate, Fono.fi, and http://www.aanitearkisto.fi. Unfortunately, there seems to be no image online of the B side, and Google Translate is unable to make complete sense of the A side title. Apparently, the second and third word really should be spelled as one word, Oli Lemmensatumme Suloinen.

What role does R. Esko play in this recording and why, of all the people listed on the label, is he (or she) the only one omitted from the credits and/or Notes?

The label is clearly promoting the 1940 Summer Olympic Games that - after Tokyo cancelled - were supposed to be held in Helsinki.
Uncertain about the release date, possibly 1939, but the recordings are from 1938.
