xiphophilos 19th Sep 2015		Recorded ca. Jun. 1916 in New York, N.Y. Some versions of Columbia E3712 list the performer as Tambouritza Orchestra, cf. Richard Spottswood (1990), Ethnic Music on Records, vol 2: Slavic, p. 939 (source). The second draft of Spottswood's newest work on the Columbia E Series (from Dec. 2016) dates this recording to c. Jan. 1916, cf. Richard Spottswood, "The Columbia E-Series" (http://www.recordingpioneers.com/docs/COLUMBIA-RECORDS-E-SERIES.pdf). Released in 1918 per DAHR's Table 5. The label style (patent text in 2 lines listing 6 patents, price restriction notice) was used between ca. 1917-1918, cf. M. Sherman & K. Nauck, Note The Notes, p. 28.
