Added to YT in 2018 When You Play With Fire is very quiet on electronic reproduction - were Decca Discs better suited to the still mechanical means or Charlie trying to get a particular feel for things ?

In 2014 the tune was added to YT, far better audio than can be got off my well worn and loved 78.

I presume the audio was a section from one of Charlie's Radio Broadcasts, or was it just made to sound like that by Decca ?

I had forgotten his (BBC Radio 2?) Sunday Soapbox weekly show , I think it was in the time slot currently occupied by Paul O'Grady.

Somewhat underdone later cross with Wilson and Betty Film Style :


Was George Chisholm in This Decca Version of the Stand Easy Orchestra , or did he join later?
