'Common Sense' often doesn't apply with Columbia. This record was listed in the Columbia New Records Supplement for January 1941. That also contains a listing for releases from July to December 1940 which does not include this disc (images uploaded here). Date changed.

A late1940 release makes indeed more sense than 1941 because this record doesn't yet have a tax code stamped into the area around the runout. The tax stamp T = 21 Oct. 1940 – 14 Apr. 1942 was probably attached to a pressing produced before the tax law went into effect.

Based on information submitted with surrounding numbers, the probable date of release for this disc is late 1940. Given the limitations of this method, and the known propensities of the label, however, I would note out the possibility of a carryover into early 1941.
