 My great-grandfather bought this, presumably on release in 1922, and we still have it in the family possessions ; and it still gets played, albeit occasionally!

 I was just about to add this, so I've just updated wikipedia because it wasn't quite right (isn't it always?) This is the first recording and acoustic (June 1922, released September); the one we usually hear was recorded electrically in 1926.

 Wikipedia says that the song was written in 1922, and that seems to tie in with this cat#.

'Billie Grey', incidentally, was a pseudonym for Penrose's second wife Mabel Anderson.
