xiphophilos 4th Aug 2024		J. D. Wardle is a pseudonym for Arthur Elliot, see Leonard Petts, in Talking Machine Review 20-21 (February - April 1973), page 126. That same article explains that these were originally Zonophone recordings that were transferred (dubbed?) to Gramophone matrices and produced exclusively for the Australian market because an Australian distributor had complained that Gramophone didn't provide them with enough comedy records. GC-3-2812 was originally Zonophone mx. X42409, recorded by Arthur Elliot.
