 According to Slim,the "talking steel" on those early sessions was Speedy West.

 I remember my Uncle Ted had this one. Haven't heard it in many a year but I well remember the steel guitar sound on 'Waterwheel' after nigh on 60 years. 'The old miller seems to be lost in his dreams', me too sometimes.
