mister_tmg 22nd Sep 2017		This took nine months from the original release to reach #1. The MGM film of the same name was released in the UK on October 11, 1954, so around the same time as the single. Perhaps it was picked up by DJs and given enough plugs to eventually chart in July 1955.



bigyella 15th Feb 2017		Slim's first and biggest UK hit, spending eleven consecutive weeks at #1 from August to October 1955.

mister_tmg 24th Feb 2016		I wonder if the silver pressing is the one that was available when the song made #1, and London had dropped the gold lettered labels by then? I say this because from memory the silver pressings are much more common so that probably sold more.
