The Birmingham City Archive may hold the same record (Pensioners' Male Voice Choir. MS 466/41/5/24 1953) in their "Papers of the Cadbury Family" in a box called "Bournville Works and Village 1951-1955".

Are we sure this is a 78? The image shows "Speed 78" crossed out, and the stroboscope surround has as many markings as this 45

 Hi,

I have just found this 45 and it look's exactly like the picture you posted expect it does not have the "bourneville penisioner male voice choir" written on it but it does have written on one side "Performed & written by the Umpteenth time"

I actually quite like the record.

Can anyone help me find out more about this record I have as I cannot find any information anywhere,

Thank you

Liam

 Thanks. Sorted.

Sorry - the handwritten label seems to have it in the singular - so it should be "whatever's scrawled on the label" in this case. Can't see either making a lot of difference as it's a recording studio's one-off,

 Scratchy45,

The correction you requested says "Pensioners" rather than the singular. Could you confirm which? TY

I guess it's something very early in the timeline this studio seems to have operated (see here) - or here- 45s only.
It actually has "Bourneville Pensioner Male Voice Choir" on the handwritten part of the label so maybe something to do with the Bournville Trust (set up provide housing and other facilities for both locals and Cadbury's Bourneville Factory workers). Artist name change requested.
