rhythmdog 20th Apr 2022		Rhino released a couple of box sets of "Juke Box Classics" for juke box collectors in 1989 and thereafter. Perhaps it stimulated the bootleggers to make items like this and 16 Candles- The Rhino box sets aren't yet well-documented here, but even when they have labels that look somewhat like the original labels, they have numbers like R1-78000 [1-25], or R1-78003 [1-25] on the labels.



mister_tmg 4th Feb 2019		I thought the Golden Circle 78 series was genuine. The Jimmy Jones one does have a KGC number. According to eBay listings, they were pressed in the 1980s on vinyl for jukebox operators.



Jock_Girl 20th Jun 2015		Plus -- the golden circle series as 45s had a catalog number of KGC xxx .. so wouldn't a 78 in that series have at very least been in the format of GC xxx. My guess is that it is vinyl and from the same people who did this one: Marcels - Blue Moon given the rim along the outside of the label



W.B.lbl 20th Jun 2015		And it's not just that 78's wouldn't have had 'K' before the cat. #. Actual 78 matrix prefices would have been ##-S-###; ##-XY-### was for 45's. Of course, the other key this was a boot' was the computerized typesetting - and the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. reference in the rim print which didn't take hold until after 1960.



confranfan SUBS 20th Jun 2015		This is a possible bootleg issue as the catalog number with the 'K' prefix does not conform to all other 78 r.p.m. releases with a USA origin for her releases.
