Notes

The earlier name of the label issued by the 'Jazz Art Society 65 Bramber Rd. W. Kensington' was 'Jazz Collector'. This is a re-press of Jazz Collector L 3 from after the label name changed to 'Jazz Selection'.

As a collector from outside the UK, I personally wouldn't have known to look for a Jazz Selection record under Jazz Collector. Doesn't it make more sense to list the label name as it is listed on the label, and then link the two different label names? We are doing something like this with Modern Music and Modern, for example.

Jazz Selection was the first name, but it was changed to Jazz Collector. We already have another record (mine!) with the earlier name in our Jazz Collector listings, so I've moved it there.

 According to Michael Thomas: (http://www.mgthomas.co.uk/Records/LabelPages/JazzCollector.htm)
Founded in May 1949, this label specialized in reissuing rare jazz classics from the 1920s. It was made for the Jazz Art Society of 65, Bramber Road, West Kensington, London. The catalogue numbers started at L-1 and ran up to nearly L-140. All were dubs taken from the originals and vary somewhat in quality. The records cost 7/6.

The early issues are labelled "Jazz Selection"; the label name was probably changed from this due to there already being a label with this name reissuing early jazz recordings.
Later pressings give the address as "Jazz Selection, 100, Charing Cross Road, London W.C.2".
