MikePasta 6th Jan 2019		You are absolutely correct! The runout on Side A is indeed an A EE V, not 1 EE 1. The letters are as clear as they could be so I have not idea why I typed it in the way I did. Thank you!



xiphophilos 31st Dec 2018		Herald was the in-house brand of Macy's, probably because its flag ship store was (and is) located at Herald Square in New York. All the releases I've ever seen use matrices that had previously been issued on one of Eli Oberstein's labels, usually Varsity. The V at the end of the matrix number in the runout with all the Hall Concert Orchestra recordings we now have in the database probably denotes that these are Varsity matrices. Most of them were recorded ca. 1940-1944 in Europe. The CC-FF matrix numbers are definitely the ones used on the original Varsity releases. In any case, that makes me wonder if the A side runout shouldn't be A EE V rather than 1 EE1.
