xiphophilos 7th Dec 2017		Under his Japanese stage name Hasegawa Ichirō (family name listed first), the Korean pop singer Choi or Chae Gyuyeop with his song "Arirang", originally released in Japan in 1932 on Columbia 27066 (A side), was the first of a series of Korean pop singers to find success in pre-war Japan, cf. Song Cheol-min, "K-Pop Beyond Asia", page 21.
