This 78 is a metal disc faced both sides with shellac or possibly vinyl. It carries a copyright notice (Public performance prohibited without licence) and the rim of the label is graduated and carries the note (Appears stationary under 50~ lamp) for speed calibration.

xiphophilos 21st Jul 2017		The Leadbelly discography at http://www.keeponliving.at/artist/lead_belly.html shows that both these tracks were recorded in New York City in 1943 and released on Everest FS104. So I assume this acetate was produced in the US, possibly also in 1943.
xiphophilos 27th May 2015		Interesting item. Apparently, it's a kind of strobe disc.
