xiphophilos 27th Mar 2019		Lionel released various records with sound effects over the years, including two flexi discs, one that the dealer dates to 1947 and a 1952 flexi disc. A 4-inch record with sound effects was advertised in Popular Mechanics, Nov. 1947, page 261. The narrator was sports announcer Bill Stern. Same ad in Boys' Life, Oct. 1947. On Ebay, the label of this record says "Lionel Trains in Action". Haven't found anything about this particular record yet, though.



carryonsidney 26th Mar 2019		Lionel Trains is/was a toy train brand, popular in the 1950's (American, obviously). You can see a large selection of their engines on ebay etc.



LaurenceD SUBS ● 26th Mar 2019		I cannot find any information about this record. Each side is a different series of train sounds along with a conductor calling out things such as "All aboard!" and "Lionel Express running on time!". There is also a narrator describing various features of Lionel trains. I can only speculate, but this doesn't sound like something that would be available for purchase; maybe these recordings would be played in the Lionel stores for patrons to hear.
