xiphophilos 11th Oct 2023		This could be a later repress, not the 1911 release, which probably had the bottom of the label look like Oxford 3503. The six patents (Dec. 10, 1901-Nov. 30, 1909) are the same displayed on Columbia Magic Notes labels between 1914 and 1916, see M. Sherman & K. Nauck, "Note the Notes," page 27.
xiphophilos 11th Oct 2023		This couldn't be a 1908 release because in 1908, Oxford records were still exclusively produced as 7-inch discs. The first ten 10-inch releases by Uncle Josh Weatherby (i.e., Cal Stewart) appear in the Fall 1909 catalog, where they are listed in a special section of their own, all with 5000 series catalog numbers, i.e., they are all originally Zonophone releases). The same catalog on page 755 also offers a bunch of 7-inch Uncle Josh releases with 5000 series catalog numbers. They must have been very successful because the Fall 1911 catalog suddenly offers 47 new and different numbers originally released by Columbia, again in a special section of their own, including Oxford 72, 3503, and 3932, where I have also updated the release date.
