On June 25, 1949, Signature Records announced that they would change the name of their subsidiary label Hi-Tone to Signature-Hi-Tone by mid-July (they had just closed down their former flagship label Signature) (Billboard, July 2, 1949, page 19). That name change seems to have been very short-lived. So my guess is that your copy is an early repress of this record from July 1949 or a bit later. When the type-setters reset the label design, the misprint of Saunders' name as Sanders crept in.

By the way, I've cropped your image to circle shape to get it to correspond to site standards. You may have to clean your image cache / reload it to see the new version.

 Hi,

I just bought an old collection of 78's and in this collection was this record. However, the artist name is Jimmy Sanders, not Jimmy Saunders. Is this an early misprint or a forgery?

Thanks
