Both tracks are spirited recordings of hits of the day. I particularly enjoy the wood block percussion on "Mammy O' Mine" and the xylophone parts on "Tell Me".

The "King of the Player Piano" Max Kortlander, was well enough kown as a composer by 1919 that he could demand and actually received for the rights to "Tell Me" the then enormous lump sum of $100,000. In contrast, Maceo Pinkard was still an unknown in 1919. "Mammy O' Mine" (1919) became his first great hit, which is why this song has to share billing and time on the B side with two other songs.
