10" Test pressing.

A custom Decca vinyl pressing of two tracks from their vaults which they originally had the UK rights to issue.
The Jessie Matthews side (TB 2751-1) is dated 13/1/37 and was issued on Decca F 6287 in January 1937. White label with handwritten text on a typical black and white striped border.

The Elvis Presley side (H2WB.6779) was recorded 30 April 1957 and issued on RCA 1028 in January 1958. British Decca had the rights to press American RCA, hence they had this recording. Handwritten text on yellow label.

This copy has been in existence since at least the 1960s.

Greg Butler 25th Jan 2019		Actually this is not all strictly true. YES Jailhouse Rock was pressed onto a Hard Vinyl Test Pressing and there are about 4 that I know of - but the recording on the other side was different in every case. On one such pressing the other side seems to be an unreleased George Formby track! And this could be way more valuable than the Elvis Track more details here http://www.georgeformby.co.uk/news/ms/mystery_song210311.html Several copies of Elvis' "Loving You" were also pressed on these Vinyl test pressing 78s - again each with a different track on the other side. ALSO these test pressings were done MUCH later than 1960 as they were made in the DECCA facilities just prior to all of the metal masters being scrapped circa 1974
mister_tmg 8th Feb 2017		This 78 itself was unreleased. It's technically a "test pressing", a category which doesn't exist here. The nearest thing is an "acetate", which this isn't.
xiphophilos 7th Feb 2017		We've had a request to list this test pressing as "Unreleased." Both tracks have been released, though, even if not in this combination. What do others think?
