The Victrola name was introduced with the second type of Batwing label in the fall of 1917 and appeared on Scroll labels from 1926 to the spring of 1935, when Victrola was replaced by Victor and the words "Red Seal Record" were introduced instead of the older "Orthophonic Recording" (M. W. Sherman, Collector's Guide to Victor Records, 2nd ed., page 99).

For the label above, this means it cannot have been issued before 1935. So I have replced the date 1934 with 1935. I also wonder if "A-4" means that this record was part of a multi-record album.

I hid the image because the sides were cut off. Fortunately, the submitter has now uploaded a better image that I could edit up to side standards.

Seeing the hidden {Image #1578353}, I have to ask: At what point did Victrola become Victor Red Seal? Given that some 78's on the former label, on later repressings, turned up on the latter. Not to mention the cat. # system being transferred from one to the other.
