As already said, “I’ll Sail My Ship Alone” was a #1 country hit, Moon Mullican’s only one in his long career, and his soulful singing and distinctive piano solo make it a pleasant affair, more hopeful than the first lines of the lyrics give reason to expect. It was covered by many artists, notably be Jerry Lee Lewis who frequently pointed out that Mullican was one of his biggest influences, and you can easily hear it.

See Floyd Domino’s lesson From Moon Mullican to Jerry Lee Lewis on YouTube:

And here's Jerry Lee's faster and more defiant version on Sun 312:

Couldn’t agree more. :-) Apart from the arcane and often counterintuitive rule work that they’ve created for themselves, discussions there get so often nasty and ad hominem that I wonder why no-one from management interfers and simply bans a couple of these trolls.

If we thought that Discogs were any good, we wouldn’t be here I presume.

Interesting. I asked because on Discogs, no one seems to be aware of this fact:
King 830
A few more examples:
King 779, King 784, King 799, King 812, King 815, King 819, King 824

No, it shouldn’t. As documented in many sources, King had its A-sides marked “AA” and B-sides marked “A”. In addition, “I’ll Sail My Ship Alone” was also the hit side, a solid #1 in Billboard’s C&W charts.

Shouldn’t “Moon’s Tune” (830-A) be the A Side, and the double A (830-AA) side be the B side?

Uploaded label variants in which the text “Vocal by” etc. is indented differently.

Added an alternate B-side scan. The A-side of my copy matches Tailspin’s image 742596.

I guess an unusual release with A & B sides with different color labels. The A [AA] maroon/brown and the B [A] red.
