 Here's a 1938 recording of Jimmie Revard And His Oklahoma Playboys, appropriately titled "Oh! Swing It". They were one of the leading bands of the Western Swing, inspired by Bob Wills And His Texas Playboys (as the band name easily indicates) and alongside with the local favorites, The Tune Wranglers (with whom they shared several members at times).



For this October 1938 session in San Antonio, Texas, the band lineup is not safely documented. Although the brothers Adolph and Emil "Bash" Hofner had left to form their own band (Adolph Hofner And His Texans), they are also listed as (possible) musicians here, which is not unlikely as both bands recorded for Bluebird on this day. The dominant fiddle, however, was apparently played by Leon Seago, who would join Ted Daffan‘s Texans in 1942. As often with that band, he may have handled the vocals, too, although the singing is not credited here.
