fixbutte 14th Feb 2015		Corrected according to the labels on 45cat, thanks peterh. Although the artist name on the label is Fention, this is actually blues singer Fenton Robinson, see the comment on 45cat. Besides, as the composer of both sides is D. Dean (David Dean), I suspect the same musicians on both sides of the record.



peterh 14th Feb 2015		The 45 has David Dean's Combo for the B side, see here, so it's probably the same for the 78 issue. Also, the artist name on the A side label is Fention, not Fenton.



slholzer 14th Feb 2015		At least two sources have listed the B side of this disc as by Dave Dean's Combo. One of them, Blues Research 2 (issued by the late, lamented Record Research magazine many years ago), incorrectly attributed both sides to the Dean combo and has been shown to be wrong in that regard. It is harder to discount the report in Gart & Ames' Duke/Peacock book, as it correctly attributed the illustrated side to Fenton, but still attributed the second side to Dave Dean, who, it appears, was also the composer of the Fenton side's tune. If both these sources are in error, it would be nice to have a label photo to put them squarely at rest.
