ericb223 25th Oct 2018		I stand corrected. Here's a piece in Cash Box from December 3, 1955 noting the expected release of "16 Tons" later in the week: Cash Box - December 3, 1955



xiphophilos ● 24th Oct 2018		The Jan. 21 Billboard article to which you link says that "it has taken more than the usual time for this disk to assert its weight." This record only took off, apparently after some time, two weeks earlier. This does not conflict with a release as early as the previous December.



ericb223 24th Oct 2018		There's evidence out there that this was actually released in January of 1956. This would make sense as the 45 with a different B-side is showing as a December 1955 release. RPM probably wouldn't have released two different singles at the same time, would they?
