 Maybe not the best version of the Haymes band to attempt these tunes. A bit stiff. “Kate” is good enough, but the flip sounds like a military band trying to swing. Credit for that goes to the rhythm section of Jack Faye, bass (main culprit- ever hear of him? Didn’t think so), and Charlie Bush, drums. There is that chance they were looking for a throwback sound, I suppose, but seems unlikely at the dawn of the swing era.
