What I understood from serious collectors is that these releases were a result form a deal between Specialty Records and the Belgium Ronnex Records. Ronnex also did release in the fifties some 45's by Little Richard and Jack Hammer. Ronnex 1142x45 , Ronnex R1270

Have you looked at these on the Specialty Records site? The date given for this one is 1951.

Might help a bit. Try this one to:

And maybe this:

I'd like to know the answer about decent info on continental 78s...

Compare the Specialty record with the way that one is printed. Really close. And I've been unable to put a date on it.

Asked for a correction on the Mercury and Specialty discs.
Any idea where I can reach for decent info on continental 78's?
Thanks!

Walter, I think this one is from Belgium, like the Mercury (sorry I couldn't answer you for that one, for technical reasons). Mercury was released in France by Barclay (Compagnie Phonographique Française) and they had a Belgian outlet, obviously. That's the first time I've seen that grey label.
As for Specialty, I've never seen a French one. Your Decca blue label could be Belgian, too :o)
