 This is my great-grandmother's music. My great uncle wrote a book about her. I wish I could have met her in this lifetime. I have memories of what my grandma and great uncle have told me about her.

 The earliest Arizona recording artist and the first female Country singer recorded. More info:

According to Maxwell's wikipedia entry, though, Maxwell was only the first female C&W singer _from Arizona_ to be recorded. "Rosa Lee Carson, the daughter of Fiddlin' John Carson (one of the first recorded country music acts) and professionally known as 'Moonshine Kate' cut the first recorded country music records by a woman during a June 1925 session for Okeh records."
