 Pekka Gronow in 1976 about this series:
"Columbia ... had a special "Y" series which was used exclusively for Hawaiian artists and not at all listed in the main catalogue. Records in this series, which seems to have started in the late 1910's, are so rare that it seems probable that they were only produced for sale on the islands and possibly also recorded there. Artists known include Madame Alapai, Harry and Henry Clark, Henry Kaeo and Kaai Glee Club. No discographer seems to know much about this series. (I am indebted to William Bryant for this information.)"

The sticker on my copy shows that this record at least was probably sold not just on Hawaii, but everywhere in the U.S.
