xiphophilos 23rd Aug 2020		What Sherman calls the Batwing-style design has the Batwing frame, but an RCA logo on top where Nipper used to be. It looks more like this: https://www.45worlds.com/78rpm/record/nc086331us This label here looks similar to custom-made pressings from the back-catalog, like this: https://www.45worlds.com/78rpm/record/87529 The difference, though, is that it has a new catalogue number. I've never seen this Z-series before. Has anyone?

xiphophilos 23rd Aug 2020		I did manage to find this record in DAHR, but it is certainly an unusual pressing. Mike Sherman writes, "RCA Victor's standard label for personal and custom records was gold print on a white background, featuring either the Nipper trademark surrounded by an oval design (late 1920s - mid 1930s) or a Batwing style design (late 1930s early 1940s). Other styles unique to the particular sponsoring club or organization could be arranged" (Collector's Guide to Victor Records, 2nd ed., page 235. The Nipper trademark on this record is not "surrounded by an oval design", but my guess is that this is still some kind of custom pressing.
