Various Authors - Radgepacket (2008)
I won't rate this as I'm in it, but obviously it's BRILLIANT and if I were going to rate it, I'd go for eleven out of ten. :-D

Book
Denis Gifford - Encyclopedia Of Comic Characters (1987)
I don't think we should use the [Editor] suffix - it just means those who have both written and edited won't link automatically. It would be best if we had a dropdown where we could select Editor or Author.

In the meantime I'd personally just add the name as Author - you can always clarify in the notes. I wouldn't see it as a massive problem if an editor is listed as an author in this context.

Francis & Day's Community Song Book No. 3 - Francis, Day & Hunter (1942)
I've put 1942 for this but not totally sure - the footer at the bottom of each page says...

F & D. Ltd. 19421.

Does this indicate 1942? Anyone know?

Jean Ritchie - The Dulcimer Book
Ah, yes, that might make sense - should we therefore change the "first published" to 1963? I think so?

I'll double check it later on just to be sure.

I have a book about making instruments out of wood - I'll add it later...

Morrissey - Autobiography (2013)
It certainly divided opinion, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading this and thought it was great from start to finish. Yes, it's predictably opinionated, it's frequently (and deliciously) bitchy, and yes Mozza clearly lives inside his own rear end for most of the time... but what a read it makes for. Fans of Sandie Shaw and various other berated stars may wish to read through gritted teeth.

I imagine there are plenty of opinions on this one! But I really did enjoy it and I'll probably read it again at some point.

Book
Robert Tressell - The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists (1914)
Presumably we can link the two author names by pseudonym.

I tried reading this a few years back (my ex-wife's late grandfather gave me his copy) and I must confess with some shame I never finished it. Perhaps I ought to give it another go at some point.

Book
Brian W. Lavery - The Headscarf Revolutionaries (2015)
Haven't read this yet, though I went to the book launch (where I got this - signed - copy from) back in May. Hoping to get to it soon.

Lillian Bilocca (locally known as "Big Lil") is something of a folk hero in Hull - she led the campaign to improve safety standards at sea following the "triple trawler tragedy" of 1968, when three Hull trawlers sank in the space of just a few short weeks. Only one man - Harry Eddom, subsequently the subject of a very fine folk song - survived. 58 men never came home. Safety standards at the time were virtually non-existent - Lillian and her group of headscarf revolutionaries would change that in the face of opposition from all sides.

Big Lil's story is well-known in Hull (and indeed elsewhere) and this new book has garnered universally positive reviews - I look forward to reading it.

Book
Various Authors - Rock Roadie (2009)
Bought this in a charity shop not long back, thinking it might be an interesting read. I gave up about 50 pages in when it became clear it was little more than vaguely misogynistic, sexist, laddish nonsense chronicling the many encounters with gullible young women the author and his celebrity cohorts have had, in dribbling pervy detail. It's a "music" bio for dirty auld men. I'll send it back to the chazza now it's been scanned. Puerile garbage.

Book
Various Authors - The Pierrots Of The Yorkshire Coast (1988)
Damaged back cover on this one. It's got some black stuff stuck to it that won't shift. Perhaps a better one will turn up at some point in the future.

Jean Ritchie - The Dulcimer Book
The edition here isn't dated as far as I can tell although it does confirm the original copyright date of 1974. The one we have is likely 90s/00s.

Wilfrid Mellers - Twilight Of The Gods (1973)
That looks great. I'd say you only really need to do one side of the hardback though if both sides are just plain.

Various Authors - Jesus On Thyface (2010)
A very funny book indeed (albeit not to everyone's tastes for obvious reasons). The back cover gives a taste of what to expect...

Patrick Humphries - Nick Drake: The Biography (1998)
I had this, and leant it to my (former) father-in-law... I don't think I ever got it back! Really good book as I recall.

Yep I'd say so too.

I think we should use [none] for the Author though - consistent with similar fields elsewhere on the site.

Craig Awmiller - This House On Fire (1996)
I picked this up in a bargain bookshop (The Works or some such) a good many years ago now - it's a beginner-level guide to the Blues but it's well written and nicely concise. I always wondered if it was aimed at students/young adults. Anyway - well worth a read if you happen across it - it's certainly informative and entertaining, though Blues experts won't learn anything new.
