ppint. 2nd Apr 2023		Book Joanna Russ - And Chaos Died (1978)	the cat# should've been increased by one from the previous number, to 02270 - but in the ace books five-digit cat# system, this would most likely've indicated a first printing of (whatever; but a different title). the second printing should've been increased by one from the previous cat#, which it was, but from the five-digit system cat# ending in ''0'' or ''5'' it bore (it didn't: it was 02268) or had been deemed to've born, if stocks of a non-five-digit system printing were still on hand when the system was introduced - so why the cat# of this third printing was actually decreased from the first's 02268 to 02267 is anyone's guess. - the ace books five-digit cat# system was not well understood by the new owners. . .

ppint. 2nd Apr 2023		Book Roger Zelazny - The Dead Man's Brother (2011)	this is not the 2/2009 first edition: the dorchester publishing hard case crime imprint tp/b first printing, isbn 0-8439-6115-5; isbn13 978-08439-6115-7, was the first edition. this is the 29/3/2011 titan books ltd. / hard case crime edition published after the extremely dodgy dorchester publishing withdrew from all real (''hard copy'') book publishing and attempted to impose new, extremely disadvantageous terms and conditions upon the authors it had published, and various authors' organisations, authors' agents and individual authors kicked up a major stink about this. see wikipedia in re dorchester publishing, or the ongoing contemporaneous coverage in locus as the dorchester publishing affair blew up. n.b.yr hmbl srppnt. does not know whether dorchester publishing behaved similarly towards the hard case crime publishers duo. dorchester publishing is now defunct. cover art by charles (''chuck'') pyle (unsigned, credited as chuck pyle on back cover, also in indica as charles pyle) cover price £6.99, $7.99 canada, $6.99 us 256pp. (check) including titles, indicia etc, end pp. include nf afterword by trent zelazny

(yuk-of-gb-&-ni publishers occasionally err, also, as from time-to-time noted; but generally not consistently and not repeatedly so for decades.)
