ppint. 8th Jun 2024		at least three near-identical printings with rising cover prices, not fully reported/recorded: the material copyright noted as ©1965 in the thomas bouregy/airmont books indicia is the forward by robert a. w. lowndes ("doc lowndes") 1965 cat# CL60 no sbn (not yet invented) cover price 50¢ 256pp. including titles, indicia,forward etc. ... (1972??) cat# CL60 cover price 75¢ ... (c.1979 ?) cat# CL60 (cover price liable to've been c.95¢-$1.25) ... 6/1982 cat# CL60 isbn 0-8049-0060-4 cover price $1.50 front & back cover images provided by oldmod67 above



ppint. 11th Dec 2023		@oldmod67 yes, although it's not a special secret merkin code; it's the printer's printing job date. earlier airmont reprintings use the n-nn or nn-nn format - the initial ''19'' of the year is implicit - and the last of the airmont reprintings i've seen (c. 1978) do not bear a printer's date thus at all.



OldMod67 23rd Sep 2023		@ppint- p253 contains code 6/82. Is this the American print code you speak of? The reverse of tp just lists the 1965 copyright. 256pp is correct, from title page to last of Airmont Classics listing. No blanks.



ppint. 23rd Sep 2023		thomas bouregy & co. airmont books small format trade p/b first printing, of first p/b edition airmont classic series uses the first english translation, published by griffith and farran in h/cvr (1871 or 1872), q.v. nf introduction by robert a. w. lowndes cover art unsigned, uncredited, still as-yet unattributed sfaik cover price 95¢ 256pp. including titles, indicia, introduction, etc, end pp. advertising last or penultimate page of text usually bears the printer's job (abbreviation of) date printed highly unlikely to boast an sbn, let alone an isbn - this is prob'ly an amazoniclasm, as the sbn wasn't invented 'til later in the sixties - until a considerably later printing; the cover shown is of a later reprinting.
