ppint. 30th Nov 2017		a "dying earth" novel written with jack vance's permission (and somewhat bemused blessing) at a time when he had had no further interest in this setting, and thought he had naught else ever to say as should be there located. he later changed his mind as to the latter point, and as a result of michael shea's novel, at least to some extent, we have quite a bit more vancean dying earth - as well as more, later, in tribute and recognition, by other hands.
