 dray prescot sword'n'sf series by ken bulmer writing as "alan burt akers" #20:

#1: "transit to scorpio" (1972), q.v. for series listing and links.

near-identical editions/printings sharing merkin-printed covers, and hence also cat#, isbn, near-meaningless daw books collectors number 352,

cover art and four b+w illustrations including frontispiece by richard hescox (credited and art signed)
208pp. including titles, indicia etc, end pp. advertising
cover prices differ:
cover price $1.95 (merkin-printed carcasses copies)
cover price $2.25 (canadadian- carcasses copies. cat# alpha prefix should've been changed to reflect this, never was)

refer also to indicia to see if carcass of copy held was canadadian- or merkin- printed.
no priority established nor liable to be, both bearing full first printing number-string, 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9

the novel is preceded by a brief intro, and followed by an appendix, "jikaida", both by ken writing as akers.
