@ppint. That's not the instructions I see when I go to enter a new book. It says if there is more than one author to use "Various authors" and then add the names using "Add missing info". I get the impression they've changed some formatting rules; for example lots of books are not listing the OCLC class code which we're requested to include with each book.
23skidoo: collaborations by two or more authors are treated on "bookcat" by being attributed to one of these authors, and then the further co-authors being added, one at a time, via the "add missing info" button at the bottom of the page, reading the instruction for this, and following it.
anthologies are treated by the editor being entered in the author field, with co-editors being added similarly, one at a time after the book has been submitted, via the "add missing info" button - if the editor's name (or editors' names) are not known and cannot be found by searching elsewhere, then as (not known) - or anonymous (if publication's always been unattributed).
adding collections' and anthologies' contents story by story - together with their authors for anthologies - in a comment makes these contents (and authors) searchable on "bookcat", which merely adding an image (picture) of the contents pages does not.
Since there are two authors, this should have been indexed as "Various Authors". Correction submitted. Also, the book was originally published under the title Fish Who Answer the Telephone, but the copyright page says 2006 was the first edition - yet it has copyright dates of 1985 and 1998 so I don't know what's going on with this one. I have the 2007 US edition from Harper Perennial but I'll refrain from indexing it until this one gets sorted out.
m'm'alade: appreciative g; but, "...and gentlewoman's..." - shirley ?
.
- and that thrid-proposed would present quite some challenge: books not so much written in chapters, as cast in ultra-brief episodes guaranteed to cause evacuation! (- ?!??!°)
- i think i'll leave this last subgenre to your own goodself, and/or others infatuated with blaster bates.
