ppint. 20th Dec 2017		daw books mmpb simultaneous first printings sharing merkin-printed covers cover art by michael mariano (credited) near-meaningless daw books collector no.554 cover price (canada $2.95) • u.s. $2.50 208pp. (check) including titles, indica etc, end pp. advertising the near-identical canadian printing drops the "1" from the indica number string (leaving 2-9), so is accounted the second printing, though published simultaneously; book carcass printed in canada but shares merkin covers. daw books observed this practice for a decade, from mid-late 80s iirc. both bear the (almost meaningless) collector number, as does the near-identical second canadadian printing - the daw books third printing by indica publishing history number-string; also ''third'' 7/1985 retitled merkin printing: redesigned typography, new cat#, isbn, same cover art.



ppint. 9th Nov 2017		aka (not immediate reprints, but all subsequent u.s. english-language editions) "computer eye", q.v., retitled 7/1985 at the request of the publishers of the magazine, "computerworld" (neither publisher, apparently, involving m'learned friends" in the matter). (hodder & stoughton would seem not to've been advised of this by daw books, inc.)
