Adaptation of the 1996 US/UK co-produced TV movie written by Matthew Jacobs. Cover depicts Paul McGann as the Eighth Doctor. This was the first Doctor Who novel published by BBC Books; it was published before Virgin Publishing completed its contract to produce original Doctor Who novels, but it was followed by a prolific series of novels once Virgin completed its commitment in 1997.

Subtitle only on the book's spine: cover and title page only use the title Doctor Who, as per the movie itself.
