23skidoo 2nd Oct 2020		A bit of literary trivia related to this story, or specifically one of its lead characters. On TV, The Highlanders introduced the character of Jamie McCrimmon. Diana Gabaldon is on record as saying that Jamie was an inspiration for her own time-travelling Scottish book series, Outlander, and that the character Jamie Fraser is named after the Doctor Who character and his actor. This particular set of episodes is lost as of 2020 and it's not known whether Gabaldon read the novelization or only knew Jamie from later intact episodes (he was on Doctor Who for nearly 3 complete seasons). Actor Frazer Hines, who played Jamie, actually guest-starred on Outlander a few years ago by way of acknowledgement.
