"ted" tubb alone, upon the first seventeen "cap kennedy" "pulp super hero" style series short novels commissioned from him by don wollheim and published by his daw books, inc. the ''gregory kern'' house name was later also used by hans joachim alpers, horst gehrmann (''h.g. ewers''), ronald m. hahn, hans peschke, horst pukallus, manfred wegener, and mario werder. published in the uk: as "f.a.t.e." series, for "free acting terran envoy": #1-6 only: #7 & 8, though advertised by mews/nel as forthcoming, with publication dates, are "bookcat unicorns".) germany: german language translations as the "commander scott" series°: numbering sequence may differ: #1: "galaxy of the lost" (1973) (this book) #2: "slave ship from sergan" (1973), q.v. #3: "monster of metelaze" (1973), q.v. #4: "enemy within the skull" (1974), q.v. #5: "jewel of jarhen" (1974), q.v. #6: "seetee alert!"
