This Greek grammar by the Flemish scholar Nicolas Cleynaerts (Clénard, 1495-1542) first appeared in 1521. In the 17th century it was revised and enlarged by the Dutch scholar Gerardus Johannes Vossius (1577-1649).
I bought my copy in 1986 in Dover. Can anyone help me with deciphering the owner's mark? Is the name H: Havers? As far as I can read, the entry is: "Given by Mr Green to me & succeeding ministers of Ham ... meeting."

xiphophilos 18th Oct 2020		The owner's initial, H., looks exactly like the first letter of his last name. Couldn't it be Havers?



Job Lowe 27th Jun 2016		(of course I'm not sure, but this is what I see...) H. Gowers / Given by Wm Green to me + succeeding ministers of the Hamberg meeting. The plus "+" would be read as "and", and was used as an ampersand. The handwriting looks to be newer than the book, I'd guess it was already an antiquarian book when Gowers/Hawers got it. Tried Google searches for "Homberg Club", Hamberg, Hamburg, "... meeting", and so forth, to no avail.
