Just two months before John Lennon was shot on December 8, 1980, he and his wife, Yoko Ono, had completed what would become the most exhaustive and thorough interview session of his life. The couple had been retired from public life for five years, and had reemerged in a burst of creativity to record some new music - and with much to say. It was during these long sessions with Playboy interviewer David Sheff that Lennon decide to review his personal and professional life in full - often movingly, sometimes bitingly, and always honestly.

JPGR&B SUBS 5th Aug 2020		whitewhale1965, while the paperback copy of this book carries the subtitle "The Final Testament", I don't see this appearing on the cover or title page of this Book Club Edition. I propose I remove it. (Mod)

JPGR&B SUBS 5th Aug 2020		Whilst adding this book to the database and scanning it, I was amazed to find the original receipt for the purchase tucked inside. I well remember my visit to Georgetown, Washington DC, in October 1981 whilst on a business trip to the USA, but I had forgotten about this purchase. There are other items on the receipt but I don't remember what they were for!. Apart from a little (age-related) discolouring on the dust jacket, the book remains in near-mint condition.
