a. c. mcclurg & co. chicago (usa) published the first editions of edgar rice burroughs' tarzan books (and other "erb" titles) from #1 in 1914, through #11 in 1928. they progressively reduced the publishing side of their business to concentrate on wholesaling and distribution from the early 1920s.
