ppint. 27th Nov 2022		heyne bucher p/b cat# 3373, isbn 3-453-30250-8 translation by birgit reß-bohusch first published 1/1974: cover price dm 2.80 144pp. including titles, indica etc, end pp. month of publication not given, taken from science fiction times #134 near-identical second printing 1979: cover artist c. a. m. thole (unsigned, credited; art retained from first printing) cover price dm 3.80 near-identical third printing 1981: cover price dm 4.80 near-identical fourth printing 1983: cover price dm 4.80 (? fifth printing ?) 1992: text evidently re-set, as pagination increases from 144pp. to 176pp, but cat#, isbn, cover art retained: cover price dm 8.80, os 68.50 (this comment is from another edition of this book)



ppint. 27th Mar 2019		i see a bookcatter's found a book containing another of those one-sided sheets of paper again. . . (2, 4, 8, 16, 32, (48,) 64, (96,)) (64 x 2=) 128pp, (64x2 + 16=) 144pp, (64x2 + 32=) 160pp, (64 x 3=) 192pp, (64x3 +16=208pp, +32=240), (64 x 4=) 256pp, . (64x4 +32=) 288pp,. (64 x 5=) 320pp, ... - sheets of paper get printed, printed t'other side, folded, folded again, folded yet again and again. . . - then cut, sewn, stapled, glued into covers - and only very rarely does one turn over a page to discover - nothing at all on the other side, not even a blank surface, but a hole in the fabric of the universe. . . ppint. 2nd Jan 2018		cover art by colin hay, asked to "do something foss-like" cover price 35p 160pp. including titles, indica etc. multiple reprintings with same cover art, rising cover price, changes in typography, not least in the changes from panther through panther (granada), granada (panther), panther (grafton) / grafton (i.e. wm.collins & sons ltd.-owned); and adding the prefix "0" changing the above sbn9 into the isbn10. (second printing 1978 75p) (third printing 1980 95p) (fourth printing 1981 £1.25; granada replaces panther in many but not all places, still panther on front cover) i suggest recognising at least any change to grafton books, and when the rear cover adds a bar-code, as being new bookcat items (separate entries), but i don't have such changes noted.
