ppint. 21st Aug 2022		avon imprint mmpb first printing, possibly simultaneous first printing° cover art unsigned, uncredited cover price $1.95 128pp. (check). including titles, indicia, introduction etc, end pp. advertising ° - may also exist in near-identical canadian-carcassed variant but i've not seen nor seen report of such.. should you hold a canadian-carcassed copy, please comment ''here'' giving the wording advising this from the indicia. thanks. pp.

ppint. 19th Aug 2022		i think the cover art on this mmpb is by wayne barlowe: of the fourteen individual novels published by avon books in this reissue programme - i.e. excluding the larger format ''cities in flight'' omnibus edition p/b - two bear cover art by rowena morrill, who did not paint in this style, and eleven are definitely by wayne barlowe, bearing one form or another of his signature (some are also credited to him); and it is definitely in one of the styles he commonly employed. but this is not a firm attribution: i neither possess° nor have seen documentary proof of this. ° - sfaiaa; i cannot currently reach most of my books to check whether or no it is reproduced in, or listed in, and authoritatively attributed to him in any of these, including one dedicated to his work
annaloog 19th Aug 2022		I suspect this is a Barlowe cover; he created the artwork for a number of James Blish titles in this early 1980s series from Avon. The cover graphic here perhaps is a detail of a larger work.
