| Pridesale 26th Nov 2018 | Supposedly on EBay there is a set of First Editions of these, It would be interesting if they are as I understand Number 1 The Three Railway Engines had illustrations that were changed by a different artist in the second printing thereof. Similar Applies to Number 2 where there were some changes to the drawing of the locomotives. | |
| ppint. 6th Oct 2018 | and the boxed, slip-cased, etc. set has its own cat#, sbn9, isbn10 or isbn13, and a clear set title, enter it under this. enter the bar-code number (if it has one) also as one long number, as per sbn9/isbn10/isbn13. - if it does not, ask for advice in "forums", limiting forum to "books", and be prepared to wait for an informed response - the answer mayn't be simple! - if it has a clear publication date printed upon the slip-case or box, give this: but not all do. list its separate contents by their titles in "notes", giving each their individual cat# and/or sbn9, isbn10, isbn13 - presuming they have such - and also giving the edition number & date, and the impression or printing number & date, as given in the indica of each: this should suffice to identify the contents of the box or slip-case beyond any doubt. (if different books in the set have different authors or different combinations of authors, give them in the listing of the boxed set's separate contents.) - further complications are possible, but yr hmbl srppnt. believes the above covers the boxed basics. . . | |
| ppint. 6th Oct 2018 | if the title and the author entered match one another, bookcat seems to presume they are the identical book, albeit different editions thereof, and automagically link them. this can sometimes create inaccuracies - or downright errors - but mostly seems to work (fcvotw). linking editions published under different titles and/or different by-lines has to be done manually, using the (?) bbc code (?) square-bracketed syntax common to all of the 45worlds.com site, and giving the url in full - relative linking doesn't seem to work "here". | |
| Pridesale 6th Oct 2018 | How does one link to original / reprinted Hardback editions ? Note in the original Percy's Song is printed near the end papers, but in the reprint with bar code I dont think it is. A number of rev awdry books were avalible in a Station Box as box set - how are box sets entered? | |
