ppint. 11th Jun 2021		the uk price sticker is one of thorpe & porter of leicester's who for about two decades were the uk's principal importer and distributor of category fiction mmpbs, and one of the two principal distributors of category fiction magazines from or in british reprint editions (''bre''s) licenced from (mostly) new york publishers. thorpe & porter's price stickers were typically either of that distinctive shade of blue, or of an equally typical red; many also bore a limming logo of a teepee in silhouette, with or without the two letters, t & p, and sometimes the words, ''british edition'' - though these were not in fact british-published editions. thorpe & porter did not obtain british (&/or commonwealth) rights to the books whose mmpb editions they imported and distributed. for a while, through into the early sixties, thorpe & porter's wholly-owned and very closely-associated publisher of ''bre''s was strato publishers or publications of leicester.
